David Wasley

David is a former Chief Inspector, who retired from the Police in 2011 and founded DW PACT. During his police career he specialised in safeguarding  and protecting vulnerable individuals.

In his work today, he can draw upon many years’ experience of leading and managing investigations , including investigations of Internet-based crimes, leading child protection teams and working  with agencies involved in protecting children and adults. In addition to his police work, David also has extensive international experience supporting projects in Estonia, Belarus and Ukraine, working with the British Council and the OSCE.

His company DW PACT LTD delivers a full range of safeguarding trainings, working with different agencies and organisations as well as providing e-safety trainings for professionals, children and parents. He additionally supports a number of child protection charities, often providing his advice and consultancy pro bono.

Over the years David has established himself as a first class trainer delivering relevant, memorable and challenging   training  sessions.

Nigel Hatten QPM

Nigel is a former Detective Sergeant who recently retired from Gloucestershire Constabulary.

He has extensive hands-on experience, including all aspects of criminal investigation, victim advocacy, multi-agency working and is passionate about raising the standards of child protection and safeguarding both in the UK and further afield.

Before his retirement Nigel managed the multi-agency Child Sexual Exploitation and Indecent Images of Children specialist teams. He has lead complex international investigations and has made presentations at many safeguarding events, locally, regionally and internationally.

Nigel is an approved trainer for the safeguarding boards in Gloucestershire. He has recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Public Protection. In addition to delivering a wide range of safeguarding trainings, Nigel also works with a number of local and national charities.

His expertise and commitment to safeguarding has been recognised by the awards of the Queen’s Police Medal and the High Sheriff’s Award.

Kevin McCloskey

Kevin is a former police officer. He has recently retired from Gloucestershire Constabulary as a Detective Inspector having served in the Police force for 30 years, including 10 years with the Metropolitan Police.

The majority of his career has been spent within the Criminal Investigation Department with a number of years more recently being responsible for the management of investigations involving Child Protection, Domestic Abuse and offences against Adults with care and support needs at risk of abuse or neglect.

Kevin was a trained Senior Investigating Officer who led a number of complex investigations involving all of the above areas of crime.

Kevin is an approved trainer with both the Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children’s Board (GSCB) and the Gloucestershire Safeguarding Adults Board (GSAB). He has strong professional working relationships with both safeguarding boards and currently delivers training to education sector professionals, early years settings and those working in adult care settings.

Shaun Painting

Shaun was a police officer for 30 years, focusing on the investigation of serious organised crime in the UK and internationally and on the proactive use of intelligence to assist in all areas of investigation. 

Whilst in the police service he also managed the sex offenders register for Gloucestershire and was engaged in the multi-agency decision making process relating to those offenders living in the community. He was also involved in a high profile international child abuse investigation emanating from the USA and having a wide-ranging impact on the UK.

Since leaving the Police service he has continued to investigate criminality in the private and regulatory arena. His last role was as a Directorate Training Manager within a regulatory body where he was responsible for the continuing professional development of staff, the development of investigative training products and coaching and mentoring of staff through an accreditation programme.
